Description
Founded in 1989, Housing Resources Bainbridge (HRB) is Bainbridge Island’s only dedicated nonprofit affordable housing provider and advocate. As a community land trust, HRB conserves land for permanently affordable homes (for rent and sale).
In our 33-year history, HRB has developed, acquired, or partnered in 90 rental homes and 44 homes for ownership. We are currently developing an 18-unit multifamily of our own and are partnering with two commercial developers on projects that will add 44 homes to our community land trust. HRB serves households earning 30%-80% area median income, or $30,850-$82,300 for a family of four in Kitsap County (with a handful of homes available to those earning up to 120%). These households include both working people and those on fixed social security or disability income.
HRB also offers the Independent Living program which performs health and safety home modifications for income-qualified older adults and people with disabilities so that they can remain in their homes.
By making it possible for people of diverse backgrounds and incomes to live on Bainbridge, we are building a more equitable, inclusive, and healthy community.
