There’s no denying it. Creative talent seems to gravitate toward Bainbridge Island. Painters, authors, sculptors, actors, all find private and public outlets here for their own creative expressions.
And the rest of the island soaks it up! We offer a year-round, monthly First Friday Art Walk that has an ever-expanding list of participating businesses (don’t assume it’s an art gallery monopoly anymore!) that exhibit local artists’ works.
The stage gets front and center attention at our Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) live theater. This community loves all that BPA offers from plays, musicals and symphonies (many are family friendly) and even a monthly improv show. The island is lucky to have such an abundance of talented actors and directors willing to put so much time and energy into to creating quality entertainment.
In addition to BPA, our much-beloved local library branch hosts a free play reading performance by the Island Theatre organization six times a year and experiments with other library sponsored events free to the community, such as its new murder mystery night.
If you’re curious about the artists’ studios, don’t miss the Art Studio Tours frequently happening island-wide. You’ll get a glimpse into their creative process and get face-to-face time with the artists.
Working on your own creative projects? Many organizations offer classes and workshops on the island for painting, pottery, writing, mixed media collage and so many others! You can dabble, explore deeply and learn from the best of them.
Whether you are an artist or merely appreciate artists’ work, Bainbridge Island satisfies that creative need!
