Girls’ Night Out is truly a downtowner’s event! This much-loved springtime event brings girlfriends, moms, grandmoms, and daughters to the downtown business district for an afternoon and evening of shopping and in-store promotions with participating merchants. Shoppers are invited to cap off the evening with a fun after-party including raffle drawings and other festivities.
Pink Swag Bags: Shoppers are invited to visit one of our sponsoring businesses and purchase a $10 Swag Bag, which serves as their “ticket” to Girls’ Night Out events and promotions; shoppers must have a Swag Bag to receive Girls’ Night Out promotions/ discounts. The bag contains an event program listing participating businesses and specific in-store promotions, some “swag,” as well as one complimentary strand of pink beads redeemable for a raffle ticket.
Shopping, Beads & The Famous Raffle: Shoppers spend the afternoon and evening of May 8 in downtown Winslow enjoying promotions and specials in participating stores, earning a pink strand of beads for every $10 spent or a gold strand for every $100 spent. Beads may then be turned in for raffle tickets at a Girls’ Night Out booth downtown throughout the day or in the evening at the San Carlos After-Party. This use of beads is meant to 1) take the traditionally time consuming task of completing of raffle tickets out of your stores, and 2) offer visual indication of Girls’ Night Out participation.
In-store Promotions: Local businesses are encouraged to create fun promotions that excite shoppers and keep them in your store! For example, offer a fantastic sale or trunk show, a special service like a tarot card reading or spa service, work with a local restaurant to provide fun appetizers, and of course, “refreshments” always seem to be popular! Be creative, think out of the box and mix it up this year! Consider what might be exciting enough to tempt you to coming downtown on a weeknight?
After-Party: Girls’ Night Out will wrap up with a no-host party and raffle drawing at San Carlos starting at 9pm. Guests under 21 are welcome, but the main party will take place in the bar, which is over 21.
