After our short meeting, Jeff will focus on fly fishing for sea-run cutthroat coastal trout and Salmon as time permits.
Jeff has been fly fishing for sea-run cutthroat and Salmon in local waters for over forty years.
He has been developing fly patterns for these favorite fish since the mid 1980’s, has taught fly fishing and fly tying at several local fly shops, and has been speaking at fly clubs throughout Puget Sound for many years. He will discuss everything from why we use the rods, reels, lines, leaders, and flies we do, to matching the saltwater hatch.
He will discuss why sea-run cutthroat are like no other trout, what species of Salmon are in our local waters various times of the year, and what we can do to increase our chances of catching them .
For those interested in purchasing any of his custom tied flies, the club has given him permission to bring a selection of some of his favorite patterns that he will be selling at a discounted price to club members.
NOTE: The club will have 25 of Jeff’s his flies. The FIRST 20 to arrive, will get one of these flies. The remaining 5 will go into the fly raffle.
