Details: Ministers from five local churches have partnered to offer a monthly film festival featuring movies in which realistic, inspiring faith is featured. On Saturday, May 15, 7:00 pm, the Oscar-winning drama, Dead Man Walking (rated R), will be shown. (Admission is free, donations welcome.) Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn offer scintillating performances in this film, which portrays how a nun, while comforting a convicted killer on death row, empathizes with both the killer and his victim's families. Other event co-sponsors are clergy from the Cedars Unitarian Universalist, St. Barnabas Episcopal, Grace Episcopal, and Bethany Lutheran congregations.
